Wii - Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart WiiA new, and highly anticipated Mario Kart has arrived on the Wii, and along with it, the Wii Wheel, a steering wheel like peripheral that lets you mount a controller in it.  The Wii is Nintendo’s flagship console with graphics, and integrated online capabilities, and many classic Nintendo franchises have made the transition to the Wii successfully so far.  The series has always been popular and is credited for founding the cart racing genre, so how does Mario Kart, and it’s new controller fare, and does it bring anything new to the table?

Iron Man Review

Iron ManIncreased public acceptance, advancements in special effects technology, a plethora of story lines to tap, and past box office success has lead to the trend of comic book heroes making their move to the big screen for live action movies.  Iron Man happens to be the newest of the characters to make his big screen debut.  While not as widely known among the public as the more popular Spider-man, Batman, or Superman, Iron Man has a strong comic book following, and a fairly long history to tap into, and several big name actors looking to draw a summer audience.

DS - Mario Kart DS

Mario Kart DSMario Kart has become a staple Nintendo Franchise going all the way back to the SNES days when the first Mario Kart was released.  Its formula has always been simple, with fun and reasonable cart racing, lots of playable characters and carts, and unique tracks all themed around the famous Nintendo plumber so many people know and love.  The Nintendo DS version has been out for a while, but this was the first chance I’ve gotten my hands on it.  So how does this franchise fare in its move to the DS?

Terra Virvacus

Terra Virvacus is my D20 fantasy setting for use with D&D.  It is a work in progress, with some history, setting notes, and many house rules and D20 content I’ve developed included.  It’s got a bit of a twist, as humans are not normally a playable race. 

It started as a campaign idea for a game I ran many years ago.  Recently, I got the writing bug, and started putting things together, recalling what I had worked on from memory, and adapting it to work with D20.  It’s far from finished, and far from perfect, but as constructed now, it’s got enough written that anyone can pick it up and run a game in the setting.  Read further for the introduction to get a true feel of the history and twist of Terra Virvacus.
