Introduction and Backstory

Welcome to the Kingdom of Cyssa. In the main villiage of the same name, you come to the Tavern/Inn, seeking rest and refreshment from your travels.

(I haven't yet decided if you all know each other from the get-go. I may assume this, to make it easier on myself.)

You're all sitting around a large table, quietly taking in the local specailties of food and drink, when the door bangs open.

All heads in the tavern turn to a man dressed in ragged black clothing. He looks as if he's been beaten to death and then revived again. He storms in and lunges at the first person he sees, a woman, quietly enjoying a dinner with a friend. He goes for the throat when he's immedietly reduced to ashes by the bartender, brandishing a large, metal, symbol of Pelor.

Rumors and talk fly. You hear talk of other undead attacks from ealier in the week.

"What ever are we to do? Will nothing stop this insanity?" A woman, holding a baby cries.

"It's coming from that haunted wood. I know it is." A man next to her says, polishing an old broadsword.

"I hear the king's daughter was kidnapped and she's being held for ransom and the kidnapper lives in that forest!" The man's son replies eagerly. "If only I were old enough to go to the king and ask to join the party of hunters he's looking for.

Eventually the conversations die down...And a choice is to be made.

Will you investigate this? Or move on to the next destination in your travels?
