Here's a question I've been pondering awhile. I work in the "service" industry, see also cashier at a gas station, and what I truly want to know is: Why do they call it common sense when the common every day schmuck who walks into my store doesn't possess any? Can someone please answer this for me?  Sad

Yes, because common sense SHOULD be common.  However apparently that does not mean a majority of people have it.  Or if it does, perhaps we just live in the idiot capitol of the world, next to Cleveland that is.

We notice the exceptions above the rules, that's why it doesn't seem so common.  We ignore the 9 people who do for the 1 who doesn't.

Well, as I live in the town where you work, I have a few things to say about that.

No.

Where you work is a thorough-fare. You see people from many zip codes, not just 60554. So that may not be an accurate cross section.

(However, my ex'es family lives in sugar grove...so that brings the average wisdom down a notch or two...)

And finally, perhaps you sense them more because they are kindred spirits? You know, birds of a feather, and all...

Goldmoon?  Maybe I'll start a Dragonlance thread, there is an animated movie on the horizon.

Not that Goldmoon.  Actualy, someone who used the user name before she knew about Dragonlance amazingly enough.

Goldmoon was using the name before she knew about the books? I thought that's where she got it. Oh well. Good no grandma rule. We can have lots of fun with that. We'll kick back and enjoy the show if she and Aurora were here. Grin

Aurora is here, she just doesn't check it much.  Heckler is here on occasion.

Fru is supposed to be bere, but I keeps forgetting to check into the PbP thread.

ENWorld has a grandma rule. Don't say anything you wouldn't say in front of your grandma.

I noticed about half the regulars have an account here. Aurora is spending less time online. The baby is coming soon. Maybe we'll see more of her after. Then maybe not. She'll have two kids to take care of then.

Well, Eric Noah's grandma, but yes.

It was the easy way to say no swearing, fighting, or adult content.  I'm attempting to keep the forum mostly unmoderated, so I'm a lot more lenient.  The Dragonquest forums on the other hand, are a slightly different game.
