Okay, so I don't have an answer for that.

But I do have an answer for why my spreadsheet gave me wrong numbers.  In all but one case, it was my data entry's fault.

I missed a fumble (rushing) for each of Carson Palmer and Kurt Warner.  (You'd think I would have caught the Warner gaffe; I saw that live on TV.)
I had points allowed wrong for both Pittsburgh (28) and Buffalo (22).
I had Frank Gore with an extra fumble.  (Yahoo!'s box lists him with each of a receiving and a rushing fumble, but the play-by-play only lists the rushing fumble.)

That's it.

And I can't attach my spreadsheet, Tim, because .xls files aren't allowed here.

New version.  Puts all the data entry on one page (aside from roster entry), and then performs lookups to populate the individual team stats.

And I'm doing much better this week.

Cool, I'll check it out.

And it looks like the Predators took a good week to tank, Geesh!

Today's answer to "Why I can't keep track of how bad my fantasy football teams are" is because, as usual, I can't do data entry.

I missed two fumbles for Carson Palmer (Tim pointed those out).
I missed a 2PAT reception for Joe Horn.
I missed two touchdowns for Kevan Barlow.  (Touchdowns?  How did I miss entering TOUCHDOWNS?)

And there's still a mystery.  I'm still off by one for Fighting Pike (the Silver Tigers' opponent), and it's the Indianapolis defense; by my calculations, they had 3 sacks (+3), one pick (+2), one fumble recovery (+2), and had 22 points allowed (+0 for 21-27). (I realize the Jets scored 28 points, but 6 of those don't count against the Indianapolis defense by Yahoo! rules.) That's 7 points. Yahoo! says Indianapolis has 8 points, and I don't know why. (Tim, if you can tell me why, I'd appreciate it.)

No, that's just "data error".  "User Error" is agonizing over whether to start Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, then switching at the last minuted to the wrong one.

I almost didn't start Gates in 2 leagues (For Colston and Winslow), fortunately I thought better of it.

18-point mistake cost me the game in two leagues.  I played well enough to win all four, but that defense switch snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.  *sigh*  If only rosters locked earlier ... or Philly had played at noon.

Yeah, Pitsburg isn't playing well, though it's mostly Rothlesburger.

If my data are right:

Green:  62-37 up, pending Berrian for me and Muhammad, Clark, and Bears Defense for opponent.  I've got a chance there.  (Opponent also has a kicker on bye and could switch, but neither Gould nor Rackers is available (I actually picked up Rackers this week in that league but didn't play him).)
Silver:  63-89 down, with Clark for me and none for opponent (again, opponent has a kicker on bye but neither Gould nor Rackers is available; again I have Rackers).  I am doomed.
Black:  68-72 down, with Rackers for me and Berrian for opponent.  A remote chance there.
Orange (Tim's league):  74-57 up, pending Rackers for me and Jones and Bears defense for opponent.  I've got a good chance there.

My best hope:  Hey, the Bears can win 73-9, just as long they don't throw to Muhammad, Berrian, Clark, or Jones, and don't score on defense, and don't hand Jones the ball much.  And don't force turnovers.  And give up those nine points to Rackers.

Yeah, so I missed the Brunell-Moss 2PAT.  That changes scores in three leagues (since I'm going against Moss three times); I've made the edit.  The other numbers I agreed.

Still, if Jones and the Bears only score Yahoo! projections, and Rackers scores at all, I'll survive.

The Scrubs lost to one of the teams that hasn't made a roster move.  He started 3 people on byes, and still scored 71 points (Steve Smith, Housh, Ronnie Brown, Reggie Brown, and NYG D, and Crumpler played still) which toped my 62.  Should have started Horn over Chambers.  Didn't help that Larry Johnson only scored 7 and McNabb had a bad (14 point) week (for McNabb).

Predators are up 95-87 going into MNF, with Berrian on my team going against Muhammad.  Tomlinson had 33, but Reggie Brown had 26.  I'm probably safe, since Berrain should get at least 50 yards, though it's possable I could loose.  Note, Payton_Bears could have put up 167 this week instead of their 131.  Not bad for a 1-4 team.

In ESPN, playing another dead team, loosing 95-78 (he had LT, Rothlisberger, and Shockey), but I have Berrian, Bears D, and Gould to play, so I feel fairly safe there.

Rackers missed two field goals, and I think I still survived in both Orange and Black.  Silver was doomed.  Green ... I'm not sure.  If Hester's punt retrun counts for the Bears defense in that league, I lost 64-63; else I won.  EDIT:  It didn't count; I won 63-58.

I still can't enter data right; I had Coles's receiving numbers as his rushing numbers.

But if I've got the numbers right now: Green won 72-54 over the first-place team that started three people on bye; Silver couldn't come back and lost 43-49 because Glenn and Burress combined for 12 and Manning had 13 (I was down 5 going into Monday night; had I started Vick over Leinart, I would have won going away); Black, who was down over 20 points going into Monday night, lost by over 50, 86-35, to the team with the Giants' kicker and defense; and I think I held on in Tim's league, with Orange surviving 56-49.  (Ah, if I'd only played the Eagles that one week, I'd be 6-1 and in first place there.)

This is the first week I've won in all 3 leagues I'm in.

I'm 4-3 in my ESPN league, with the most points scored (by 35), and most points against (by almost 100).

If my numbers are right:

Urbana Green Tigers 88, Berea Braves 44 + Brady + Brown + Dillon + TE on bye
Urbana Silver Tigers 70, better than Ditka 57 + WR on bye
Urbana Black Tigers 50, Bbronco5 57 + Maroney
Urbana Orange Tigers 100, Reed's Steeds 98 + New England defense

And I'm assuming Branch gets credit for a fumble recovery in the Seattle game, because he forced and recovered a Kansas City fumble on the same play as Seneca threw a pick.  (Not that that affects me other than Black, where I'm losing.)

I have Orange 98, Reed 102 going into monday.  You miss Palmer's Fumble?

Maning and Wayne had a 2 point conversion, so that's probably the 4 you're missing from the steeds.

Hope MN puts up 36 points.

Predators are up 55 going into Monday, opponent has Brady and Taylor playing, so I'm PROBABLY safe...

Scrubs win 103 to 53 (I could have done better starting Grossman).

ESPN league I lost by 3 to a dead team Sad  I HATE that.  I'm still the highest scroing team in that league though.

I didn't miss the 2PAT.  But I managed not to enter it into the data.

Yahoo! was all loused up for me yesterday; I was trying to read nfl.com boxscores instead.

I didn't have the fumbles lost for either Palmer or Delhomme.  I also missed that Reggie Bush threw a pick.

Bush's pick is pretty understandable to miss.

Duh, a tie  hrm

56-56 Scrubs vs Shortbus

Preds over bears 96-85 (3 more wins likely clinches a playoff birth, 4 definately does)

and my ESPN team won 52-35 I think.

BTW, I'm 90% sure a win will clinch a playoff spot for me in the No Fun League
