My mom found a free one she is trying out and she is asking me stuff and I have no idea how any of that works. And I've been curious myself for some time but wasn't sure how to go about investigating it myself. What do you remember?

What I remember is this. Before the start of football season there is usually a league draft. Which means ya park in front of the puter for awhile and prioritize your picks. Which means ya go for players you think will make lots of big plays or come up with big stats. Generally it's a point based thing, i.e. say ya got Rex Grossman (why would you want him tho.... but I digress) and lets say miracle of miracles he comes up with a 4 TD game. Commonly that could be anywhere from 4-8 pts. Let's also assume he doesn't fumble or toss an INT. Because either of those are worth negative pts. Say he also passes for 300 yards and has a 25-30 completion record for the game. That would be worth more pts. Oh and lets get really crazy and say he scores a rushing TD as well. Ding ding... more pts. And it goes on from there. Generally you get X amount of players you can have active on any given sunday/monday. The more pts you get the better. Some leagues are broken down into player vs. player type stuff. So whoever has the most wins... wins. Or it could be a cumulative pt. thing. Again depends on the league and it's rules... and also depending on if they do things as I remember them. Any further questions?

That's the reason why I never got involved in it. Way to confusing!

I run a league at work and am in at least one other one.
Basicly, you choose your players (either by draft or by selection), and they score points based on what they do in the game. Usually you're paired against someone, and who ever scores more wins.
Towards the end of the season, most leagues go into a playoff, where the best teams over a season play each other to see who the winner is.
Again, leagues can very, but it can be a lot of fun.
