Heart of the Shiverpeaks

Dang that quest is rough to solo as a monk.
I probably need to align my heroes differently, but I can't manage to do enough damage to kill the stupid creature in the time allowed, and meanwhile, it kills my henchies/heroes because I can't heal them while running the keg (and I'm instakilled if hit).
Best I did was down to about 25%, but I couldn't get close after I got up a 60% DP.

Yes. Your heros were probably wrong.
Take the three ranger heros, and set them up as
Touch Rangers.
Bring another hench monk, and two tanks. Make sure you bring extinguish, and breath of the great dwarf. your touch rangers will destroy cyndr without the need to use the kegs. Just take it slow, and be careful of aggro...the popups are not nice. Hex removal is good..And bring PAIN INVERTER! omg, bring it.

See, I don't have Pain Inverter, and I'm not even rank 1 in Dwarf with my monk. I also only have 2 ranger heroes, but I think I can do Touch rangers (need to buy a few skills).
I think part of the problem is that an SS necro, and MM necro are useless, as was my shutdown mesmer (First time I tried it), second time, I had a drain life necro with Greneth's balance (which eats this thing alive the first use), but he didn't have a lot of touch skills, the SS necro because she had heals too, and Vekk as a nuker, which was ok, but not quite enough. Swap out the SS for a touch ranger should help. beyond that, I had Menhlo, Zho, Devona, and Cynn.
I did have [extinguish] though, and yes, that is quite useful. I pondered sticking it on Vekk too, probably should.

Well, I would HIGHLY recommend doing the quest to get pain inverter. It utterly destroys bosses with aoe. the times I have fought the great destroyer (imo, the Disk of Chaos was harder), He has died very very quickly because of pain inverter. Ask John, or Jim. I am certain they will sing the praises. In fact, doing arcane echo+pain inverter isn't a bad idea either...I would be willing to help with the heart of shiverpeaks, but our schedules...conflict a bit.
And what is the third ranger hero you are missing? Do you need to beat nf to get her?

The Destroyers may have gotten tougher with the fix of Inner Fire (Their 1 heal, it did nothing until a few weeks ago).
Cyndr is tough because you can't cast hexes on him with his Carapice on, and he doesn't attack when it's gone, so characters that rely on the opponent to do anything (Pain inverter, SS, etc) do nothing.
I did beat him... with a group of 5 monks. It ended up being 4, 2 brought Ursan to do damage, had 1 ursan mesmer, and a Dragon Slash warrior.

Sweet.
Managed to PUG the final 2 missions in EotN. Now I only have Nightfall to go to have beaten all of them (though it won't be with 1 character).
