I got a chance to try a bit durring the event weekend, and it's a lot of fun.  Team quality may vary a bit, but it's fun, and you earn some Balthazar and Alliance faction pretty quickly (1-2,000 Balthazar faction and around 600-2500+ faction).  I managed to dump 15,000 into our alliance with less than 2 hours of play (and got very near to finally getting access to Faction skills.

Anyone want to try to set aside some time in the next month to do some AB as a guild (Groups of 4)

I can set aside a sunday evening for such an endeavor.

You need Factions too

What problems are you having?  I might be able to help.

Delete your .dat file and then run gw.exe -image to download a new one.  Sounds like your .dat file is corupted.

The -image command will take a while, as it downloads EVERYTHING to your PC, so I'd do it and then go to bed.

Also, make sure you have Direct X 9.0C.

There's only one .dat file in the Guild Wars directory, gw.dat.  Chances are, it's 1-3 GB.

and you can run the gw.exe -image one of 2 ways.  One, is either copy the GW shortcut (or simply edit and undo later), and edit the command line to add the -image command, or the other is to run it manualy from the command line.

Running the -image command will also remove most of the initial load time when you go into a new area.

How far are you in EotN btw?  Obviously at Warband of Brothers on the Ebon Vanguard track.

Understandable.  I recommend making a B-Line for Livia after that.  Necros make good minion masters, cursers, healers, and other things, but a Minion Master is a life saver.

Ok, the other option:

Try running the game with the -dx8 extension.  That should force it into DX8 mode, which might work ok with your video card.

Command line Arguments

Yes, your video card may be able to run under DX 9 or 10, but I don't think it's fully DX9 compatable (many don't have some of the features required for DX9, like particularly shader modes)
