Hello all ... I am an enWorlder who stalks about the hive. Bront invited me to come over here so I came. He specifically was hoping for feedback on his d20 setting even though I am a horrible when it comes to "rules-fu".
Oh well. A hello to all.

Ya know ... maybe I shoulda been a little more detailed in my intro post, like a few others were.
I began gaming in 1979, being introduced to it a day or so after my family moved to Syracuse, NY by some friends on the same block. They had copies of the the old OD&D supplements (like Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry and Gods, Demi-Gods and Heroes) and the "blue box" edition of DnD.
Wikipedia has an entry summarizing the "blue box version" that runs thus: "Sold with dice and a module as the Basic Set, the first edition of Basic D&D, published in 1977, collected together and organized the rules from the original D&D boxed set and Greyhawk supplement into a single booklet, which covered only character levels 1-3. The booklet featured a blue cover with artwork by David C. Sutherland III. The "blue booklet" did away with the original's dependency on the Chainmail rules, and explained the game's concepts and method of play in terms that made it accessible to new players not familiar with tabletop miniatures wargaming. The original Basic Set was notable in that it was intended as a bridge between the original D&D and the AD&D rules rather than a simple introductory version of the game. Unusual features of the original basic game included an alignment system of five alignments as opposed to the 3 or 9 alignments of the other versions. This Basic Set was very popular and allowed many folks to discover and experience the D&D game for the first time. Although this Basic Set was not compatible with AD&D, players were expected to continue play beyond third level by moving to the AD&D version[1]; evidently the radical changes AD&D would make to the rules were not yet appreciated when the original Basic Set was produced."
Anyway, the first modules I played were: what would later be named "In Search of the Unknown", The Tomb of Horrors and White Plume Mountain. I loved the first module ... but the other two just killed my pc's REAL quick.
From there, ADnD and subsequent versions of the Basic/Expert/etc. game until around 1988, when I moved to the West Coast and stopped actively gaming, although I would stay in touch with the "scene" book wise. 2e really turned me off. So did the "Immortals" set. I lost active interest around 1990. Previous to this I had tried all sorts of stuff released by TSR, I.C.E., Palladium and even V&V!
I only recently got back into "active" gaming through looking at video games - around 2002 or so. First was Temple of Elemental Evil, the second was Neverwinter Nights v.1 . These two re-ignited my interest in gaming in general, although I have still played very little. 3.5 is fine as far as it goes, I guess.
My interest in gaming has REALLY received a "kick in the pants" with getting my paws on a copy of C&C though.
The next game I hope to play in is a PBeM with a few of the folks from enWorld. About my speed and schedule at present. We will see if it takes off.
What can I say? Gaming is NOT the most important thing in my life, but I do enjoy reading and even thinking about it, just as I do fantasy lit (and sci-fi, some). I am a BIG fan of everything Tolkien and am an unabashed 1e gamer outlook-wise. I regularly visit enWorld and look in on Dragonsfoot from time to time as well.
Think that covers it enough for now.

Fascinating, albeit not entirely accurate.
