What D20 books would you recomend that aren't the WotC books?

Beyond Countless Doorways
Complete Book of Eldritch Might
Hyperconscious

I have Arcana Unearthed, it's ok, but I haven't had anyone interested enough to explore it much.
I do like Conan D20, it's got some fun rules, and I like how they deal with favored classes.
Oathbound is a cool setting concept.

oh I forgot Paizo's Dragon Compendium. I like that one too
I purchased lots of the Enworld Publishing ones over Christmas but I havent had time to delve into them. The Elements of Magic series had some great review though.

The relationship between WotC and Paizo is a confusing one because technically WotC owns all the content in Dragon Mag. So if Paizo wants to republish they need permission. Paizo was definitely the publisher on this volume and they did all the work on it. WotC owns the content though.

Personaly i like sovereign press' Dragonlance stuff, but that might be more because of the setting than its content. The only d20 ogl book i would really recommend is the Stargate SG-1 d20 stuff. Rather than simply regurgitate the players handbook with the same info but with genre photos (like the babylon 5 rpg) they reworked the feats and the skills and core classes to take the inflexable d20 system which only handles fantasy well into a near future setting and made it work quite well. There are still some glaring d20 faults there but they could only do so much with what they have to worke with. I thought it was well worth the $50 i happily paid for it.

Did they use D20 modern for that?
While I've never gotten much of a chance to play it, D20 Modern adds a lot of extra flexability. I've been itching to play Darwin's World, but I can't quite seem to convinve anyone to run it.
To continue the discussion, Mutants and Masterminds 2.0 is a fantastic D20.

It uses the spycraft engine which i believe is very similar to d20 modern.

Ahh, actualy Spycraft is it's own, and was pre-D20 modern. They did revamp it a bit in the 2nd ed, Which if I recall now, is what Stargate usues.

Yeah, i was quite miffed when AEG lost rhe license. The core book was set in season 6 and they were releasing detailed season sourcebooks and only got to season 2 before the end.

I just HAFTA recommend the modules from Goodman Games! Love their stuff and appreciate their conscious attempt at capturing the "old school" feel!

That would be Non-D20, not non-WotC D20.

I think that was just a shameless BSG RPG plug he was trying to make there. No Jovis, we didn't get that..

Next you'll start recomending D20 non-books. Or maybe Non-D20s.

On the topic of Non-Books:
Paizo's Combat pad has received an Ennie
The Critical Hit deck is looking very cool
The Counter Collections by Claudio Pozas are quite nice (though I've not actually used them in play)
I've got some of Paizo's Treasure cards which look amazing, haven't incorporated those either yet though
D&D Miniatures are always cool as are the dungeon tiles.
