I just picked this up for the PC.  Anyone else played it (PC or 360 version).

I've played it on the 360. It's a cool game. I enjoyed it immensely. The dialog could be a little better but all in all it's a fun game and for me at least there is a decent amount of replay ability to it. It's fun for me at least to go back thru it and choose the renegade responses.  evilgrin

There's three different love stories (Depending on the sex of your character, 2 for 1, 2 for another, though 1 is the same for either sex), 6 different classes to try, and of course, the Renegade vs (Can't remember the name of the good side) alignment stuff.

The PC version apparently fixed or tweaked a few issues with Inventory, on the field controls, and added new downloadable content that's free.  I just got to the Citidel with my Vanguard.  I may retry the first part with a different class first, as that one didn't suite me quite as well for a beginer, though throw and warp were fun.

Then again, I haven't done may FPS style games, and it plays a little like one at first (It's not, but I need to adjust, as it's violently different from what I'm used to).

Does it have similar controls/gameplay to the elder scrolls series?

Maybe (Though probably not, I actualy like these).

It's a sci-fi tactical RPG game (With some sci-fi version of magic thrown in).  It's an over the shoulder 3rd person type of view, and there are controls that automatically hug cover for you.  You control yourself and 2 other characters, and you control them by giving them orders, or just letting them do their thing.  Fortunately, the PC version isn't too bad.

However, it isn't exactly hardware light.  Technicaly, my CPU not overclocked is the min spec (though overclocked it's faster than the recomended), but my video card is pretty decient, and I don't play on super high res with AA, just 1280x1024 with most stuff turned on to medium or high.  Haven't hit a hickup yet.

If you have ever played either of the KOToR games, Mass Effect plays a lot like them.  It's a great game, I need to go back and play through it again.  If I can get the playtime in.  Gotta finish season 9 and 10 of SG-1 and season 1 of Chuck.
