I am a little ticked at some of the loose ends that I don't feel got cleared up. It felt as if in some of the story lines that months had passed, and then in other story lines, it picked up where it left off. This was a little frustrating for me. Anyone else??

All I'll say is that it was an interesting start. I hope they can recover from the craptacular season 2. Oh well time will tell.

I'm confident that the season will be awesome... I was well pleased with the premiere. I wasn't expecting a few of the twists (pertaining to overall plot, not necessarily just Season 3). I just need one question answered: TO BE POSTED SOON.

So far, I'm excited about the new season. I'm curious what happened to Dr Suresh. I don't remember him being that reckless in season 2.

He wasn't. That is what I am saying. I feel as if in certain story lines, a longer period of time has gone by that makes it seem as if things happened that we don't know about. I felt as if his behavior was not in keeping with the way they have portrayed him to be up to this point.

It's like instead of trying to tie up threads left over from season 2 they just jumped to where season 3 was supposed to start and assumed that no one would notice the huge change in certain characters. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, more of an annoying thing to do.

I think that some of this is their deliberate attempt to keep things moving, by simply glossing over a few minor continuity issues of time passage.

Either that or they'll do another 6 months previously type episode. Which in itself isn't a bad thing just mildly annoying.

Actualy, after reading the directors blog, apparently very little time has passed.
Nikki is dead, so that is NOT her, that is someone else entirely (The real Jessica maybe?).
They did slip up with Hiro being in charge of the company though, it was supposed to be his sister, though perhaps she's in charge behind the scenes with Hiro as the company head. Or perhaps Hiro's father saw what Hiro did to save the world and changed his mind.

The only thing that makes sense to me with the whole Nikki situation is that the doctor either created them or cloned them. Cuz when Tracy was talking to Dr. Zimmerman he mentioned something about others and he created her. It was a good episode. Good to see the Haitian again too.

Can't wait to see where they are going with the whole Nikki/Tracy situation. Cause if you noticed, when Zimmerman answered the door he called her by a completely different name, so there is at least 1 more out there.

I don't recall the different name. I remember Zimmerman saying the one from Beverly Hills or something like that. And she didn't look like "um - who do you think I am?" or anything like that. But who knows.

I have to tape it so I can't rewind it and put the cc on to see what was said. (cc doesn't work when playing back a tape, stupid machine!) I thought he called her by a different name, but I could be wrong. If anyone can check that out I would appreciate it.

It was a different name but I can't recall what it was. I assume there are more than one more out there. Looks like they all have different powers. Wouldn't whatever gave the power also be cloned? Meaning the same powers?

They would all be exactly the same (DNA and stuff) so the power should be too. But, it being TV, they can do what they want. Hopefully we will get an explanation.

I think the guy said Barbara when he answered the door. And as for the powers of nikki and stuff, I don't think it is inherent in the DNA. That would mean that every time Sylar or Peter absorbed another power, it altered their DNA structure. And the serum that Suresh just cooked up would have to alter the DNA to grant a power. I think it has something to do with the brain. Because that is where Sylar looks when he is learning a new power. What do you guys think?

If you look at Sylars power and Suresh's theory when he made his serum then I'd have to agree that what controls and grants powers is located in the brain.

I agree it is a brain thing, not a DNA thing.
Also, it was Barbara. Last nighs episode confirmed that the other name of the triplets was Barbara. Interesting to see when she pops in somewhere down the road.
Ok, Drew and I don't agree on something. A couple of episodes ago when Ma Petrelli told Sylar that he was her son, I took that to be her playing him - giving him a "gifted" mother figure to look to since his own mother could never understand him. Drew took that to be that she really did give him up for adoption and that she is his biological mother.
Then, last nights episode confused me, becuase Gabrielle/Sylar truly does believe he is her son, even to the point that he calls Peter brother, and his son calls Peter his uncle. So, what is the deal? Is Sylar really his bilogical brother, or is he so worked over by Ma Petrelli that he just believes it to be so?

Well with as messed up as the Petrelli family is he could be her son. Also looks as tho Pa Petrelli might not be as dead as everyone thought. At least if that really was who they were teasing us with at the end of the show teaser. The whole thing with Nathan and Linderman is at times annoying and irritating. And if the whole 4 years in the future bit is any indication whatever is going on with Nathan can't be a good thing. I'm also curious as to just who or what is trying to put the formula together.

It could have been a story she was feeding him to get him to work with Noah. It's becoming very soapish if it wasn't already.

I think he is a Petrelli given up for adoption. It would also make sense given how close Peter and Syler's powers are (in that they can absorb powers).

As I thought about it over the last week, I came to the same conclusion. I do believe that Sylar is related, simply for what you just said Tim - that their powers are the same - in that they can both absorb powers - just different in how that power is absored.
Looking forward to seeing tonights episode. And I think it would be safe to say that Pa Petrelli might be behind the whole "putting the formula together" issue. At least he seems the most likely at this point, although I wonder why...

This is becoming a mess...and not an intriguing (X-Files, J.J. Abrams work, etc.) one either.

I have to agree that it is becoming a mess, but...
First, I do find it intruiging that Parkman Sr was behing the whole Linderman thing. At leat that question is answered. And it does make sense.
Second, I don't like what they did to Hiro either. Did he so willingly kill Ando because he knows he can go back into time and fix it, or did he do it because he fears the glimpse of the future he saw in which Ando kills him? Either way, not cool - Hiro was always the one I thought would remain true to being a real "hero".
Third, I am very much a black and white kind of person - I don't like the lines between good and evil to be blurred - not like my chaotic husband does (Drew!!). Now, I don't mind that Sylar crosses the line from bad to good (because that does make things interesting - and you do need at least one good chaotic character), I don't like that the good ones have crossed the line into darkness (Peter, Mohinder, Hiro). That makes me sad, mad, and just plain confused as to what the h*ll is going on.
Too many questions, not enough answers. I am beginning to see why a lot of people became disenchanted with the show Lost during the 2nd or 3rd season - a little mystery is certainly a good thing, but if you take too long to answer some questions and to give us a glimpse of clarity, you are going to lose people. I didn't experience that with Lost because we watched the first 3 seasons on DVD, so I didn't have to wait as long to get my answers, but I can empathize.
Anyone else feeling the same way??

I'm feeling a lil dazed and confused by the season so far. I mean change is good and all but they've basically turned everything on it's ear and with no real reason. When the speedster was seeing Linderman as well I figured something was going on and had the idea that it was Parkman's dad behind the whole "vision" thing since modifying what people see is his whole deal. Interesting that he's saying Matt has the same power since so far as I know all he can do is read minds. Mohinder becoming evil just because he wants powers is a lil more understandable then some of the changes that have been made this season. I can even understand Peter going over the edge, considering everything he's seen. But Hiro's deal... that really shocked me. I mean I can understand his mistrust of Ando considering the view of the future he saw, but even considering that it's a drastic character change that doesn't make sense to me. All in all... I don't know how much longer I'm going to stick with the show. I'll give it a few more episodes and decide then I suppose.
