I think you may have only missed the pilot and episode 2.

And I do enjoy the show as it's own entity, but they have done nothing to try to keep the story progressing the same as the books. They have introduced things into the story line that don't even appear until book 2, they make Kahlan out to be on great terms with the Sisters of Light, when she wasn't - she had heard of them, but I don't recall her ever having contact with them (as they are from the Old World).

So, on it's own - I like the show, and I will keep watching. Mostly because I want to see who else might be in it that I recognize from Xena and Hercules, or the LOTR movies. They pulled a lot of great New Zealanders for LOTR. I keep hoping we will see Karl Urban (Ceasar and Cupid from Xena, Eomer from LOTR). However, I doubt we will see him. He has moved on to major films, but who knows!

Looks like they introduce Shota next week. That should prove interesting.

Ok, Ash.
how would you feel about a mini series about, oh, the Silmarillion that butchered the storyline?

The Silmarillion spans more than 3000 years, the storyline is already butchered, not that anyone could really do it justice.

I would be upset with the changes, but if someone could do the beauty of the story justice, I would probably still watch it.

I admit they have butchered the storyline, but that doesn't mean that I can't like it. And I certainly am not trying to make anyone that doesn't wish to watch it because of the liberties the show is taking feel bad. So back off man.

I think this is a really interesting show.  Have they reconciled with the books yet?

Drew hasn't. He tells me to just tell him what major things they have ruined each week!!

I am enjoying it despite the variances from the book. This past week was good, introducing Shota. She is viscious in the books though, and I think they could have made her a little more ruthless in the show. But, it is what it is. The acting is good. And I am actually getting used to Richard. Now that I am back to reading the books, and seeing him in book 2, I am not so against them having used what I originally thought to be someone too young for the role. He seems very young to all the wise people in book 2 - the Sisters of the Ligth, Kahlan, Zedd. They all have so much more experience than him, and I am feeling maybe the casting wasn't so bad. But who knows. Down the road I may feel different about it again.

Glad you are enjoying it.

I think they just played the first one again.  Very distrubing, with a nude Zed being oddly affectionate to a chicken.    unsure

Bummed there wasn't a new episode on this past weekend.

I watch it regularly, but I haven't read the book(s).  So to me it's like watching a better scripted and choreographed; Zena or Hercules.  They are doing reruns now so my viewing is likely to drop for a while.

I'm still watching. I am a sucker for it. But speaking of steaming piles of crap Drew, what was the last SciFi Saturday Night movie you watched? Those are like 10 times worse then Legend.

I missed the begining last week so I was really confused when I turned it on to see Kaylen and Richard behaving badly in jail.  I caught on quickly enough but it was really strange.

OK - I have to admit. I did not finish watching the latest episode of Legend. NOTHING ABOUT IT EXCEPT FOR RICHARD AND KAHLAN'S NAMES WAS REMOTELY TIED TO THE BOOKS.

When I got to the part where Kahlan puts a Rada Han on herself because she is afraid of her Con Dar power, I couldn't take it anymore. That is it for me now.
