WW4: Space - The Howling Frontier (Game thread)

Space, it's big. With the invention of the FLT drive and refinement of metals, space travel has become somewhat common place, and space stations are all over the galaxy. However, a more private space transport is generally rare.
This makes the B.I.G. Ego rather unique. It's a small privately financed science vessel funded by a playboy philanthropist. Registered with the Galactic Star Accord council, the captain is the only official council presence on the ship as required by the GSA charter. Normally teaming with a large medical science team, the vessel is currently making a simple equipment run and inspection.
The day begins normally, as the captain offers a mid-day ships announcement, but it is interrupted by a bloodcurdling scream. You all run to the bridge and arrive at the same time, only to find the captain torn to shreds and the ship has dropped out of hyperspace. Several key systems have been damaged, including navigation and the security system.
With a few key presses, someone pulls up the ship's computer:
"ARAMIS is Online. I can have the navigation system repaired in about two weeks, but the ship can't go faster than sub-light till then. It appears some of the crew has been infected by the Wolf retrovirus. My detection systems are offline, so I am unable to differentiate crew members without auditory confirmation codes. My database says that the Wolf retrovirus can be killed by being ejected into space, but it will likely kill it's host as well."
With no captain left, and no where to go for a while, you have nothing to do but sit, wait, and hope you're not the next victim.

Now what in the worlds are we going to do without a ship's captain. Who's going to represent my interests?

Egad! What happn'd to our gool ol' Capt'n. This sound like what happened over at Wolf 359! I thinks the pilot is the next in the chain of command, as he's got the most stripes on his uniform. What does Fry say? I'm heading back to the galley, My dinner menue for today was going to be spaghetti and meatballs, but after what I just saw on the bridge, I think I need to make some changes, besides, I think I lost my appetite anyway.

I say flying spacecraft at sub light speed is boring.
Raist wait, I like speghetti.
Engineer JC the computer says two weeks. I need those engines on line in ten minutes.
Lath, give us the password to your safe full of money just incase the wolves eat you next.
Peter, help wolfwynn take with the captain.
Rakor clean up all that blood.
Shay, you Um, *** wondering if we even have a lab for the lab assistant *** assist.
Wulfwyn You've got the save the captain. Put him together with that flashy light thing, and then wave that trico reader thingy....

I'll try Sir, but I have a bad feeling about this. With a name like "Peter the Nurse" I'll be easy pickings.

Get a back bone there Peter, this isn't as bad as episode 9: "The trajedy at Alpha Zeta Gamma Reticulon Zulu Rodger five"
Remember it seemed hopless until the Captain tricked the Plazmoid Reticulons into activating the Zeta Gamma device?

I'm not giving you the code to the vault. Once I do that you will space me claiming that I'm a wolf.

The ship's computer says that the retrovirus can be killed by the vacuum of space. I guess that means we have to space someone to find out if they have the retrovirus.

*finishes what examining she can do here*
I'm sorry guys. Even with the advances in medicine I won't be able to save him. We got here too late. Peter, get over here and help me get his body back to sick bay. There's a chance I can tap into his brain and pull up the last image he saw before he died.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Voondie moondie shmoondie vu, BORK! Bork! Bork! I thought some Swedish meatballs would serve better than spaghetti and meatballs, besides, when I do the spaghetti, I always wear the cooks uniform with the red shirt, and something just tells me that that ain't a good idea.

That sounds like a good idea, I vote space
Lathlander
, And trust me, you won't be able to open the safe without the code. Besides, he stole my last girlfriend. But if he forks over the safe code, I'll promise to switch my vote. Cooks don't make very much money, and if I make it out of this alive, I'd like to retire, space is just getting to dangerous these days. Between pirates and space werewolves, how are we supposed to make a living out here.

Well, if opening the Vault is all that important, I can do it as soon as my supply order comes in, which should be in a couple of days.

Wait a minute! If all you want is money, I can give you plenty of that. Enough to retire respectably.
And Raist, your last girlfriend, well I hate to tell you this, but she was a tramp. I was doing you a favor.
Maybe we should space
Crispen Fry
instead since he is accusing me of dragging you all out here. I'm paying your salaries by the way.

Are we so chaotic as to kill off crew at a whim? Unless we can figure out for sure who this wolf is I say we stick together and stay strong. Do we have any weapons or armor? Shay and JC do you think you can compile some sort of trap to take down or detain this furry beast?

Well Pete, I can tell you this, if it is one of us who is this werewolf thing, then it will know about the trap so that might be rather a usless idea but...
As someone who works for a living, I am inclined not to space the man who, for the moment, is funding my paycheck. And if he can fly, then all the better and I vote to space the
Pilot, Crispen Fry
.

I agree to
space Crispen Fry
.
We could try some kind of trap, but like Rakor said, one or more of us is a wolf. They would know about the trap. Only someone who is guaranteed not to be a wolf could do something but we have no way of determining that. It's all pretty logical really.

*comes out of sick bay*
I've finished examining the body and getting what data I could from the imprints on his eyes. It was indeed a werewolf, fairly large one at that. He was taken by surprise so the image was blurry, couldn't make out much else.
*looks around at everyone*
Now what's goin on up here?

That's funny, the rich boy thinks he can fly.
But seriously, far as I know, I'm the only one who's seen any military action. I slower and older now, but I think I could take down a wolf if I got a shot. Is the play boy going to do anything besides watch you all die?
