‘Your Voyage of Ascension draws near, my son. Are you prepared?’
‘Yes father, I think so.’
‘You think so? That may not be enough, my son.’
‘I will do the best that I can, father.’
The father regarded his son for a moment, then asked, ‘My son, what do you know of the kingdom where we live?’
‘We live in the Kingdom of the Dragon Isles,’ his son replied, ‘a kingdom made up of seven major danai, with many minor danai that may or may not be recognized as members of the Kingdom.’
His father smiles, ‘Well said, my son, well said. What else do you know?’
The son thought for a moment, as though making up his mind where to begin, then he said, ‘Well, we live in Lopa Danai, a grouping of islands to the east and just to the north of Kalah Danai, the capitol…’

The Dragon Isles ongoing campaign takes place in the Kingdom of the Dragon Isles. An island kingdom made up of seven major danai (Island groups) with Kalah Danai being the capitol danai. The capitol island in Dan Kalah (the island of Kalah) and the capitol city is Ben Kalah (the city of Kalah). Each danai is named for the largest city on the largest island of that grouping. There are also, Lopa Danai, Kordath Danai, Borvath Danai, Lopath Danai, Hurai Danai, and Heerad Danai.

The Kingdom is entering into ‘golden age’, the economy is good, there is very little poverty in the kingdom, and there is a newly established trade agreement with one of the barbarian tribes in the Polar Sea (the northern sea). It is a time of peace and knowledge, magic is practiced and taught openly and anyone with sufficient talent may aspire to become a mage.

Magic flows freely, the King (Roderick Essington the third) rules in wisdom and is liked by all, and the Sky Riders and their dragons can be seen soaring overhead, keeping the peace. Life in the Kingdom of the Kingdom of the Dragon Isles is good, for now…
